A great read. Intriguing, clever, can't put it down. Can't wait for the next volume! Imagery is amazingly descriptive. Highly recommended.

Wonderfully absorbing book that reminds me a bit of the Song of Fire and Ice series. My only complaints can be generalized to the entire modern fantasy genre: The names are a mouthful and I hate waiting for the next book in the series to figure out what happens next (George R. R. Martin, I'm looking at you on this one).

I could easily picture the novel in my head like a film. At times I felt myself actually rooting for the character Aodhan and what would happen in the next chapter. It's a great read that leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for the sequel.

A brilliantly crafted story with vivid imagery and characters that pull you into this world of war and treason. The anticipation for the next novel in the series is palpable.

Great first novel....The book is filled with many characters with new names(so keep your wits about you, so that you can keep up with who is who) but it is definitely a page turner once you get into the book...a little more editing required. Highly recommended - feels like a Game of Throne genre but with less fantasy......looking forward to the sequel to see how it develops - because one can only wonder if two characters can really be trusted!!??

I. Loved. It. It had a Brandon Sanderson sort of feel, and you couldn't wait to see how it would all fit together. Can't wait for the next one, and can't wait for a movie. Fantastic read and would recommend to anyone. If you're looking for a can't-put-it-down read, look no further; this is it.
